Here we are before the race. It was surprisingly really cold that morning. It was only 40 degrees when we got to the race at 7:00 am. The race was in Deming, NM, about 45minutes from Las Cruces. My friend Shannon (left) and I had been wanting to do something for a while and found this 5k in Deming. Then I convinced 2 of my "regulars" from my class to join us. None of them had ever done anything like this and I was proud of them for committing to it.

We all did really well. For those of you who are avid runners or are just that good this won't be impressive for you but I was pleased that I got my fastest 5k time yet. I have only done it a few times, but this time I ran the 3.1 miles in 29 minutes, so I felt good about it. Every time I do something, I immediately want to do it again and get a better time. There was this girl that I started out next to and I just kept telling myself don't loose sight of her, you have to hang with her, you can do it, and I did!

They gave everyone this little medals once you crossed the finish line. Jayme, the girl on the far left, said "what is this like the special olympics where everyone gets a medal?" I told her to wear it proud she accomplished something today she had never done before, but it looks like she isn't so proud of it like Shannon and I are, LOL!!!!!

Way to go! I would like to run in one someday when I get in shape. So did I hear you are moving back to AZ? So are we!! YEAH!! I can't wait to get back. Also, I'm freaking out that you have a child old enough to be baptized!! Wow, I bet that was so neat.
I can't even imagine running a 5K!
It would probably kill me. I am truly impressed! Not shocked though. you've always been one tough cookie! Your still an inspiration to get into shape. My goal for this year is to run in some kind of "race". How did you find out about them and stuff?
Anyway, I think it's awesome.
P.s. I can't believe that Caden is 8 and got baptized! It seems like he shouldn't be that old yet! Congrats on the baptism!! You look great!!
We will have to run one together some time. I'm so glad you moving back to AZ. It's fun for a while living away but it gets really old. I'm ready to be by family again. About the shots you most definetly can sign a relgious, philisoical, or medical expemption in AZ. Don't let them scare you into getting shots when you don't feel good about itespeically with what happend to your little girl. Schools get about $50 to $100 per child if they are vacinated. That is really why they push it. I'm glad you liked the post I feel like I'm a little out of control but I can't help it.
I Do still want the recipes.
Congrats on the 5K! That's awesome!
